Utilicast assisted a generation and transmission cooperative in the Northwestern United States with deployment of a operations and condition monitoring pilot of their Transmission substation assets using their enterprise PI System. PI and Asset Framework is being used to monitor network one-lines, equipment alarms, geo-spatial visualization, and current status for key equipment (e.g. transmission lines), circuit breakers, batteries, transformers and tap changers, switching devices, and others.

Utilicast was contracted to assess options for a Southwestern United States utility’s possible participation in CAISO’s Energy Imbalance Market. Utilicast is performing a gap analysis of the preferred option compared to current operations. Utilicast will also be performing a readiness assessment for the upcoming Energy Day Ahead Market (“EDAM”) from California Independent System Operator (“CAISO”).

Utilicast was hired by an ISO/RTO to modify functional and technical specifications of its market and commercial operations systems and interfaces to include a participation model for Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). This includes drafting detailed technical requirements to capture the changes that need to be made to the systems to adhere with the provisions of approved tariff revisions.
