Mr. Cross has over 30 years of experience with IT & OT (Operational Technology) in higher education and the public utility industry, specializing in enterprise software development, solution architecture, virtualization and containerization, continuous integration and delivery. He thrives on championing Software Lifecycle maturity to reduce human error and increase security through expert teaching, mentoring, and automation.
He is an expert in Energy Management Systems (EMS), primarily SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), as it applies to controlling redundant Remedial Action Scheme (RAS) systems, including modeling and testing Wide Area Protection Schemes and regional RAS systems.
Mr. Cross also has extensive experience maintaining legacy Fortran code and converting it to modern languages like C# and C++.
